APPLICATION
Adhesive in aqueous dispersion with high initial tack, with wire effect, suitable for bonding linoleum sheets and tiles up to 4 mm thick and for cork linoleum and cork cement subfloors. For interior use only and for bonding on absorbent substrates (also for hot water floor heating).
Suitable for:
- floors with normal or intensive loads in residential, commercial and industrial environments (e.g. hospitals, shopping malls, airports, etc.);
- floors that are loaded by swivel casters according to the EN 12529 standard;
- Installation of elastic wall coverings.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Ultrabond Eco 520 is a ready-to-use, light beige, solvent-free dispersion adhesive based on synthetic polymers that can be easily applied in a single coat with a trowel. Ultrabond Eco 520 is non-flammable, contains no toxic substances and has very low emissions of volatile organic compounds (EMICODE EC1 Plus). As a result, there is no health risk to floor finishers and end users and it can be stored safely without special precautions. Ultrabond Eco 520 is an adhesive with a high initial tack and a long open time (20-30 minutes). The product is easy to apply and is especially suitable for linoleum application due to its wire effect and high initial adhesive strength. Roll ends, protruding edges or highly curved coverings can be securely fixed without difficulty.
IMPORTANT
- Perform installation work only at the prescribed temperatures (between +15° C and +35° C) and relative humidity (below 65%). Laying, binding and drying time will increase at low temperatures and high humidity, and decrease at high temperatures and low humidity.
- Do not use on damp substrates or substrates subject to rising damp.
Applying the glue
Spread Ultrabond Eco 520 evenly on the substrate with a notched adhesive comb suitable to completely cover the backing with adhesive. Do not apply the adhesive to a larger area than can be covered with flooring within 15-20 minutes.
Laying of the floor covering
Follow manufacturer’s instructions regarding application technique. Make sure the floor covering and substrate are at the prescribed temperature before you begin laying. Furthermore, observe the generally accepted rules of technology and national standards (e.g. ISO, EN, DIN, BS, OE, SIS, UNI etc.) for laying floor coverings. The drying time of Ultrabond Eco 520 varies from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the suction of the substrate and environmental conditions (temperature and humidity). In any case, the floor covering must be applied within the open time of Ultrabond Eco 520 (20-30 minutes), this is to ensure that the adhesive has transferred to the back of the floor covering. Ultrabond Eco 520 Smooth the surface with a wooden trowel or roller immediately after laying, working from the center outward. This ensures that the adhesive is well distributed across the backing and air bubbles are ironed out. If necessary, repeat this procedure after a few minutes.
