Technical features
Planiseal 88 is an osmotic one-component mortar based on cement, aggregates with a selected grain structure and special synthetic resins, according to a formula developed in MAPEI’s research laboratories. After Planiseal 88 is mixed with water, a liquid mortar is formed that can be applied with a trowel, brush or sprayer. The mortar is completely watertight, even in the presence of dunnage, and adheres excellently to the substrate.
Consumption
Approximately 1.5 kg/m2 per mm layer thickness.
Prevent chance of cracks
A leveling that is laid tightly against the wall offers a chance for future cracking. To counteract this as much as possible, the advice is to apply the floor so-called floating. This can be done by applying an edge strip before applying the levelling layer. This edge strip is elastic so that when the floor expands, the edge strip will absorb that expansion in order to prevent cracks as much as possible. The use of a Primer under the leveling layer is also recommended.
