APPLICATION

• Waterproofing of foundations.
• Waterproofing of bearing walls.

Application examples

• Cold watertight impregnation of masonry, or in-situ concrete on full soil.
• Waterproofing of flat or curved surfaces of underground structures, such as tunnels and underground passageways.
• Waterproofing horizontal concrete surfaces under screeds provided with a PE separation layer (in these cases we recommend applying Mapelastic to the screed before applying the floor finish to protect the screed).

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Plastimul is a solvent-free paste composed of special bitumen emulsified in water and special fillers with a fine grain size, formulated according to a formula developed in the MAPEI research laboratories. Plastimul has a thixotropic viscosity, making it easily applied for waterproofing flat and sloped surfaces. After complete drying, Plastimul forms a waterproof plastic covering, which does not re-emulsify after prolonged immersion in water, even if this water shows a slight action of acids and bases, and is resistant to the aggressive action of substances in the soil. Plastimul meets the requirements for thick polymer modified bitumen coatings, in accordance with EN 15814.

CONSUMPTION

Approximately 0.5 kg/m2 per mm of diluted product when used as a primer. Approximately 1.7 kg/m2 per mm of seamless dry film thickness on a flat surface. On uneven surfaces, consumption is higher. Please note that in order to achieve the performance levels in accordance with the EN 15814 standard (see presentation final results in the Technical Data table), at least two coats of the product must be applied as indicated in the Standard.
