UZIN PE 460 Epoxy primer/wet barrier

UZIN PE 460 Epoxy primer moisture barrier is ideally suited as:

Surface reinforcing primer (full and saturated sanding) or in combination with UZIN PE 280* on mineral substrates such as sand cement, anhydrite or magnesite, prior to leveling.

Versatile application for:

• Moisture barrier on cement-bound, moisture-resistant substrates such as rough, very dense or smooth cement floors, concrete surfaces, etc. with a maximum residual moisture content of 5%. (In case of underfloor heating, obtain technical advice first).
• Surface reinforcement on mineral, absorbent substrates such as cement- and calcium sulfate-bound floors, as well as magnesite and wood testing floors, concrete etc.
• Adhesive layer on sanded tile, stone and terrazzo floors, and on old substrates with adhesive, leveling, paint or floor covering residues. Also suitable for substrates with non-water-resistant adhesive residues such as fixings or sulfite-based adhesives.
• Suitable for use with hot water underfloor heating
• Parquet bonding on a non-sanded UZIN PE 460 with a 2-component parquet adhesive (bond within 48 hours).

Opinion

Excessive moisture in moisture-sensitive substrates such as calcium sulfate, magnesite or wood floors should not be shielded.

Processing

1) Allow the combo pack to acclimate. Pierce the plastic cap and the bottom of the lid (hardener) several times. Drain the hardener completely into the A-component and mix thoroughly until homogeneous. Pour the mixture into a clean container and mix again to avoid unmixed material.

2) Apply primer directly and evenly with a coat roller. Ensure a completely closed film.

3) If a second coat is required as a moisture barrier, apply it crosswise. For visual distinction, add approx. 1% UZIN Colorpaste to the second coat. Then spread this layer “full and saturated” with fire-dried sand (0.4 – 0.8 mm). After curing, remove excess sand and level. Check whether sufficient sand is left behind. If necessary, prime and sand again. When used as a 1-coat moisture barrier always apply as a closed layer (min. 500 g/m²). After curing, prime with UZIN PE 280* before levelling.
